Mis en service en 1966 le paquebot EUGENIO C est un des derniers paquebots italiens à avoir été construit pour la ligne transatlantique de l'Amérique du Sud.
Son dessin est superbe et il présente une face avant des superstructures courbe et arrondie lui conférant un dessin moderne.
Il a effectué son voyage inaugural pour Rio de Janeiro le 31 août 1966. Il a servi pour la compagnie Costa jusqu'en 1996. A la fin des années 80 il prend le nom de Eugenio Costa. Il est le navire amiral de la flotte Costa.
Il portera ensuite le nom de Edimburgh Castle et de Big Red Boat II. En plus du dépôt de bilan de sa dernière compagnie des ennuis mécaniques le conduiront vers les chantiers de démolition d'Alang en 2008.

Entering in service in 1966 the passenger ship EUGENIO C is one of last Italian passenger ships to have been built for the transatlantic line of South America.
Her drawing and design are magnificent and it show a front face of amidships curved and rounded conferring her a very modern style.
She made her inaugural journey for Rio de Janeiro on August 31st, 1966. She served for the company Costa until 1996. At the end of the 80s she takes Eugenio Costa as name. She was Costa's flagship.
She will wear for 5 years then the name of Edimburgh Castle and then Big Red Boat II.
